The Cobra

The water
coils back
like a snake
before it strikes

The children run
                                    out
                                               to catch the
                                                                            stranded fish

But like a snake the water comes
                                                                            The head
                                                                            The fangs
                                    devouring
the little children

But now
unlike
a snake
it keeps going
                                    doesn’t stop
doesn’t stop
